Individual therapy is a one-to-one approach tailored to your unique experiences, values, and self-identified goals. Sessions explore thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and significant life events, while encouraging skills for greater self-awareness, resilience, healthier relationships, and improved daily functioning. There is no set number of sessions; treatment length is based on your needs and progress. Sessions are conducted through a secure remote platform and are generally 60 minutes long. Common areas of focus include:
Anxiety
Depression
Grief and loss
Life transitions and adjustment
Relationship and family challenges
Self-esteem and personal growth
Identity exploration
Trauma
Work and academic challenges
Setting boundaries and improving communication
Founded by Natasha Whyte, LCSW, a Jamaican-American psychotherapist, Bloom Well Connecticut provides comprehensive psychological evaluations to supplement immigration applications, including VAWA (Violence Against Women Act), T visa, and U visa.
Referrals must come directly from an immigration attorney to ensure legal relevance and proper case coordination. Immigration evaluations are forensic in nature and do not establish a therapeutic relationship. If it is determined during the evaluation process that a client would benefit from therapy, appropriate referrals will be provided for mental health treatment.
Each evaluation includes:
Review of relevant case documentation provided by the client’s immigration attorney
1–3 clinical interviews via secure telehealth (up to 90 minutes each), with follow-up interviews as needed
Psychological assessment including use of validated measures and diagnostic impressions when clinically appropriate to support findings
A professionally written evaluation prepared for submission to the client, their immigration attorney and immigration officals
Scheduling and timeline
Currently, weekday evening and weekend appointments are available. Evaluations are generally completed within 2–3 weeks after the final clinical interview. Turnaround may be longer if additional interviews are needed. Bloom Well Connecticut is not able to accommodate expedited evaluations at this time.
Fee
Please contact us directly to discuss pricing. Court testimony or depositions are not included in evaluations, and, if ever required, these services are billed separately.
Language
Evaluations are typically conducted in English. Clients are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of any interpretation or translation services.
Following a collective loss within a community, Bloom Well Connecticut offers individual support sessions and debrief groups to foster a trauma-informed space for grief education, reflection, mutual support, emotional processing, and access to crisis and therapeutic resources.
These services can be provided virtually or in-person (depending on location) and are well-suited for schools, organizations, and first responder teams after a significant event.
Please note: grief support is not therapy and does not replace professional mental health treatment.
Individual supervision is available for LMSWs pursuing LCSW licensure.
